I'm Alexander Schnabl, most people know me as Alex Schnabl. I'm Co-Founder of S&S Technologies GmbH. We automate business processes with n8n, connect them to the systems a company already uses and build AI agents. I also train and fine-tune AI models myself.

I got my first job in software at 16, as a summer intern in a research group at Universität Klagenfurt. In 2021, while I was working at Infineon Technologies, I co-founded my own company. Since then I have also worked for the Formula Student team of ETH Zürich and at mountX. I studied Computer Science and Economics alongside work and I'm now doing my MSc in Information Management.

I was born in 2002 and live in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee in the south of Austria.

S&S Technologies GmbH

I co-founded S&S Technologies GmbH in 2021. The company used to be at ss-technologies.at and is now at sus-tech.com. On the company blog I write about our work, for example in "LLM Finetuning: LoRA and QLoRA" (August 2025) and "Matrix42 Integration in n8n: n8n-nodes-matrix42" (July 2025).

Open source

I publish tools on GitHub when I think they are useful to others. The two for Matrix42 are published under the GitHub organisation of S&S Technologies GmbH.

  • n8n-nodes-matrix42 - the Matrix42 integration for n8n: tickets, data and a trigger for workflows.
  • Matrix42 MCP Server - a Model Context Protocol server that lets AI assistants work with Matrix42. It only reads by default.
  • Directus Docker - a Docker Compose setup with an Nginx reverse proxy for running several isolated Directus environments on one server.
  • Tripadvisor API - a Python package, available on PyPI, that wraps the TripAdvisor APIs.
  • Svelte Mockup - a Svelte component library that puts your interface into mobile device mockups.
  • Vector Vault - an in-memory vector database engine that I wrote in Go to learn the language.
  • Blip Image Captioning Docker - the BLIP image captioning model in a Docker container, behind a simple API with a Redis queue and a worker pool.

Products and websites

  • Almias - a learning management system for elementary schools that integrates digital books from educational publishers, built with SvelteKit and Supabase.
  • rechnung-schreiben.com - a tool for freelancers and small businesses to create invoices in the browser, built with React and Tailwind CSS.
  • Pazzwordz.io - an open-source password manager that I built with a friend in a single weekend. It is retired, the code is still on GitHub.
  • Websites, among them mountx.at, karlschnabl.at, malermeister.cc, claudia-pewny.at and drschuster.at.

Research

In 2021 I co-authored the paper "An Artificial Hormone-based Algorithm for Production Scheduling from the Bottom-up" with Wilfried Elmenreich and Melanie Schranz. It was published at ICAART 2021 (DOI 10.5220/0010243902960303).
