The Matrix42 MCP Server connects AI assistants like Claude, Cursor or GitHub Copilot with a Matrix42 instance through the Model Context Protocol. The assistant can find the right web service, read the data model, query records and search the service desk.

The server only reads by default. Writing to tickets has to be switched on, and every write is shown as a preview until it is confirmed. The credentials stay in the server, the assistant never sees them.

I built it at S&S Technologies GmbH. A typical Matrix42 instance has about 190 web services with 1,100 operations, and an assistant cannot know which of them exist. With the server it looks them up instead of guessing. It is written in TypeScript and published on npm under the MIT licence. It is an independent community project and not affiliated with Matrix42 AG.
